Being a concrete cutting company, one used piece of equipment that we are constantly working with is a concrete saw. We thought it would be good for all of our customers and potential customers to learn about this important piece of equipment. A concrete saw is used to cut a range of materials from concrete to brick, asphalt and tile.

A general concrete saw can either be powered by electricity, gasoline, air or hydraulics.  Depending on the product it can also be a small hand-held saw to a larger walk-behind saw. For concrete contractors, it is vital to choose the proper saw blade based off the specific task you are performing. Here are some important factors to consider when choosing the blade:

  • The match of diamond saw blade’s features and the concrete/asphalt’s type
  • When wet concrete cutting, you usually want to use diamond saw blades
  • You need to choose whether fasting cutting or longer lifespan is needed
  • Finally, you need to choose what horsepower is needed for the concrete saw

There is much more that goes into a concrete saw. Each job has its own variation of this saw. For further information about our concrete saw cutting work, feel free to give us a call at 508-830-9955.
